Christmas Vacation - Christmas Caroling - Entry #6

Once we got home Wednesday afternoon, DJ and a bunch of the guys headed to Fry's to check out boy toys.  While the kids played with each other, most of the women either watched kids, made fudge, or helped with dinner.  That night was to be our Feliz Navidad party of sorts.  Yummy chicken enchiladas and guacomole ala On the Border (Abby used to work there) were enjoyed by all---okay, so some of the kids opted for cheese roll-ups.

Before we began our pinata fun, we took a few hours or so to cut up the fudge, wrap some gifts, and then we went Christmas caroling in the neighborhood.  We hadn't done anything like this for years.  It was so much fun.  We only caught part of our friends in the neighborhood at home (sorry, if we missed you), but great fun was had by all (well, most of us).  The funnest part was seeing the neighbors' reactions---everything from teary eyes listening to the grandkids belt out Silent Night, to sheer shock at our numbers, to spontaneous hugs and kisses from the kids to Gary Figgins!

A picture before we left (not everybody was out of the house yet, but this is most of us):

Most of us---missing Steven, Matt, Falicia, Cade, DJ, and Iz---somebody was taking the picture.  Everybody made it eventually.

These two cuties were part of our "angel choir"---the grandchildren were amazing.

Katelyn rode in style and seemed to enjoy the night!

"Here we come a caroling...."

Our singing put Katelyn to sleep or else she went to sleep so she didn't have to listen!!!

I absolutely loved having this experience with my kids but especially with my grandchildren.  It was awesome.
